Our group surf lessons in Maui are designed for families, friend groups, and anyone who believes that shared adventures are the best kind — and catching your first wave together? Led by WSL professional surfer Philippe Chagas, your 90-minute group lesson takes place on the gentle, beginner-friendly waves of West Maui's most beautiful beaches — either Guardrails Beach or Ukumehame Beach Park, chosen based on the day's ideal conditions. With a maximum of just 5 students per instructor, you'll never feel lost in the crowd. Philippe takes the time to coach every single person in the water, adjusting his instruction to each surfer's pace and comfort level. Your lesson begins on the sand, where Philippe walks the group through surf fundamentals: how to read the ocean, how to paddle, how to pop up, and how to stay safe in the water. By the time you hit the waves, you'll feel prepared — and that preparation pays off. Almost all of our first-time students stand up and ride a wave during their very first lesson. Everything is included. Quality foam surfboards sized to your height and weight, rash guards for sun protection, and Philippe's full attention for the entire session.
